Located at the “top” of the campus, at the Education Center, our main goal is to enhance your experience at the Arboretum!
We hand-prepare our food to order, and offer a nice variety of sandwiches, salads and even hand-made quiche, as well as seasonal specials and great variety ofwines and local beers, along with locally roasted coffee and hot teas.
Local ingredients are included as often as possible, and we like to change up our menu to suit the seasons. Our staff are friendly and helpful and are more than willing to help suggest menu items to meet most dietary requirements.
With indoor and outdoor seating, including a covered patio and tables in the shade or sun, our little bistro gives you lots of options to pick the perfect place to enjoy our fare, no matter the weather. So, before you stroll the gardens, or after a nice long hike, come and see us for some hearty handmade fare or a delicious snack.

Meet Brian Davis, the friendliest GM ever!
Brian is the gracious bearded fella who will undoubtedly greet you at the service window or your table at some point during your visit!
His favorite part of the job is walking the dining areas to see how everyone is doing, especially his regulars, and hearing how much everyone has enjoyed their meal.
With decades in the food industry under his belt, Brian loves working at Bent Creek Bistro more than he has ever enjoyed another post. Even on the busiest days, he thrives in his position, taking the opportunity to stretch his skillset and utilize his natural problem-solving abilities. Surrounded by the beauty of the NC Arboretum and leading a cohesive team of hard-working veteran support staff, he strives to continue enhancing his culinary knowledge, honing is management skills and loving every minute of the workday.
When Brian isn’t working you may run into him on any number of trails in Western North Carolina. Or California. Or Arizona. Or strolling the beach on Ocraco*ke. An avid outdoorsman, he is also a lover of metal working, cooking, dogs, fire pits and time relaxing with his favorite people.
So stop by. Say hey and enjoy some scrumptious food made by people who really care.
