1. Your (snail) mailbox won’t be as full. If you don’t want a quarterly update on all things ZTA via Themis magazine, you should not update your info. Besides, who wants to sort through her bills and junk mail in order to find an award-winning magazine in her mailbox? 2. ZTA events are no fun. If you aren’t into having a good time with your ZTA sisters, not updating your info is the way to go. If you really dislike catching up at chapter reunions, seeing first-hand who won awards during Convention or meeting new friends at alumnae events, it’s best you remain “lost” in our database. 3. You’ll never know if your chapter built upon the foundation you laid. Remember that annual chapter event you planned during college? If you don’t update your info, you’ll never have to find out if the magic lived on, because you likely won’t receive any newsletters the chapter might send out or be invited back to the actual event. 4. Volunteering does not enrich your life. If giving back to the Fraternity as an advisor or volunteering your time for breast cancer education and awareness efforts isn’t your thing, you should not update your info. 5. ZTA is just four years, not for life. By updating your information, it would be easier for other Zetas to reconnect with you. Definitely don’t do it if swapping stories, celebrating each other’s successes and being there when a sister needs you are no longer of interest to you after graduation. So, by now you know this who...

By Baylie Schneck (Kappa Psi Chapter, Kutztown University) Officer Leadership Academy is a great time for incoming Executive Committee officers to transition into the roles they have been elected to by their fellow chapter members. This year, I returned to OLA for the second time, excited and ready to transition from my role of VP III/Membership Chairman to President. I am so eager to lead my chapter and do everything I can to help Kappa Psi Chapter continue to grow. I was also excited for my incoming VP III to learn everything I learned last year along with even more new ideas to bring back to the chapter. As incoming President, I was a little nervous going into the weekend. What if I wasn’t able to handle being President? What if it would all be too much? Honestly, The VP III role can be overwhelming during Primary Recruitment, so I can only imagine what being President feels like. I want nothing more than to be the best President I can be for my sisters because they deserve the best ZTA experience; and OLA was vital in helping me feel confident in taking on a position that will sometimes make me feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. The weekend made me feel much readier to take on my position and reach the goals EC set for our chapter. I learned a lot of great ideas to implement from other incoming Presidents, including new incentives to raise chapter morale and tips to make meeting Crown Chapter criteria simpler. Throughout the course of the weeke...
