Hi, I have this code too, E43 that is causing me a lot of trouble with the client. The forklift works very well without difficulty, the only bad thing is the code that appears on the display screen. Replace oxygen sensor. Replace gas injectors. Replace sensor Maf. Replace admicion manifold gasket. Check that the ECM cables are well. How do I calibrate with the Diagnozer cat.

I've had this issue a couple of times, yesterday July 19th 2019 this 1F118LV Drove me crazy E-43. Replaces complete throttle assy, mass air flow sensor, O2 sensor, good known ECM and code still there. I was about to order a new harness and found broken wires by the ECM that harness dad a loop and the left side steer tire hitting the harness and brine a few wires. So keep an eye on this models

How do you prevent the ECM from advancing the timing when trying to adjust the distributor with a timing light?

Is there a jumper that needs to be installed to prevent this from happening?

altustech,
in most cases the pc programs that work on any make truck are generally coded specifically for that mfg's machine and usually come with a specific cable.
in some of the older units that used the impco system (generally GM engine trucks) the impco psi pc program would work on about any unit. I cannot say this is true for the newer units because after i think Tier 2 impco started using a special cable with rf adapter.

So in short... no there is not an 'all in one' pc program. The only place you can find a legit pc program is at a dealership and they do not sell them to the public anymore, most never did or will.
If you find any out in public they are probably illegal copies being pirated. I would not suggest using anything from a pirated source period ;o)

Do you know if the computer service tool will work on all makes of trucks equipped with the Nissan engines k2, k25, tb45 etc...?

altustech,
unfortunatly you do need the pc program to do a relearn on the Idle Air Volume control.
The only thing the pedal dance proceedure will let you do is read error codes and erase them.
You could try to disconnect the battery for a period of time but i'm not sure if that will erase the hardset parameters in the eeprom for that setting.
if you have the right OBD handset it may have an option in it to do this but i have never used one, my cat/nissan manual references a GSE service tool and it does show a reference to doing some 'active' ECM tests so it may be possible, i've always used the pc program since it allows you to do everything by default.
Someone else here that has used the handset may be able to answer this.
You may need to prepare youself to have to call a dealer to come and do it for you.

Do you need a laptop to preform "Idle Air Volume Learning" or is there a pedal procedure like Nissan has for automobiles?

on the cat nissan systems E43 is for air/fuel mixture ratio does not cross stoichiometrically for an extended amount of time during the intended closed-loop operation.
(Stoichiometrically means: Relationship of)

Malfunction Description:
After the engine warms up the oxygen sensor does not switch from lean to rich. It can stay at a low voltage, middle or even high voltage point.
It becomes stuck lean or rich instead of reversing directions (switching) when in closed loop.

Diagnosis:
1- clear the DTC
2- clear diagnostic code in active test
3- perform fast TAS or (relearn) air idle volume learning with engine warmed up at idle.

Note: the system will not complete the relearn if the problem still exists.

After completion of the relearn:
a) engine timing must read 0 to -1 deg
b) A/F Alpha LPG must be within specifications (75 to 100)
c) engine coolant temp must be within 83c to 94c range
d) battery volts must be a minimum of 12.5v to a maximum of 14.9v at idle.
e) Fuel pressure must be 25 to 31 kpa at idle with engine warm.
Next inspect and confirm the injection pulse LPG on the output monitor (laptop diagnostic program) between 5800 to 6900 m/sec at idle.

Areas of concern that have caused this code to set are as follows:
- leaking air horn between the mass air flow sensor and the injection holder, loose bolts possibly.
- Failed air temp sensor (readings may be off compared to actual air temp. , possibly an open in air temp circuit.
- leaking cup seal between the injection holder and the throttle body, cut or folded seal.
- blocked filter in the injection holder, a fuel restriction.

I know you already covered most of this but there may be something in here you did not.
Hope it helps :o)

good luck

Hey guys I tried the alternator trick for the code E43....my alternator only charges at 13.98.....I tried another one and still 13.98..the customer does have a computer hooked up but I made sure it was off during testing....I have installed every single part possible from new rail assembly to all sensors...got any hints

As Buckeye says check your entire charging system. Here at altitude we fight the same code on a daily basis and per Nissan the fix (at altitude ) is remove and clean battery and cables, charge battery as needed to perform load test. Results of load test must be obvious. And your battery must be strong. Install battery and start unit. Watch the amp draw as a weak starter can mimic the alternator. It must chargeat 14.10 volts or higher with an amp reading of at least 20 to not code out. Remember this is all at altitude but it shouldn't matter. If any reading is too low or if there is an anomaly fix and retest. Good luck and may the force be with you!we have seen this code happen as a result of jump starting a forklift so keep that in mind as well.

Its not the equipment , its how you use it.

Check your alternator voltage output. Every Nissan Platinum I've seen this code on always had a bad alternator.

I installed a new fuel rail assembly with new injector in it......so my problem goes way beyond that

I just had one today with a persistent code 43 and long crank time to start problem. After reading swoop's list I pulled the injector and found the "o"ring split and not sealing.

I know the 02 is working and I've swapped ecm with another unit and problem did not follow...it starts up key turn with no hesitation so I'll rule out crank or cam sensor....I'm starting to believe it's in the harness

the cat nissan systems had some issues with this code also
here are some of the issues that caused this code in their trucks

- DTC E43 ( P1815 ) Description: LPG air-fuel ratio malfunction.
- This engine has a long crank time before starting. Mass air flow sensors when bad can cause the ECM to change crank time electronically. Mass air flow meter failure.

- Assistant injector leaking or a pressure relief spring stuck. found the assistant injector was bad.
- Intake manifold cracked or loose bolts.
- Main injector o-ring installed backwards
- Injector Holder in some cases caused code.

check these things and see what you come up with (some of this looks as if you already have done but it doesn't hurt to recheck them)
