Kevin John Kriegel was born the son of Glen and Linda (Guddendorf) Kriegel on September 6, 1964 in Grinnell, Iowa. He was raised near Brooklyn and graduated from BGM High School with the class of 1983.

Kevin was united in marriage to Lisa Lea Koger on August 31, 1985, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brooklyn. The couple was blessed with two sons, Derek and Dustin, and a daughter, Jessica. They resided and farmed near Hartwick all of their married lives. Lisa passed away after a battle with cancer on November 6, 2017.

Kevin was an outdoorsman who loved life on the farm, going for motorcycle rides, fishing, and camping. He was proud of his two sons and for them to carry on the family farming tradition.
