Fantasy football rankings for Week 17: Healthy QBs hold keys to championship quest (2024)

It's often said the NFL season is mostly a war of attrition. There's no better example than at quarterback, where seemingly half the league has been forced to turn to a backup. Hopefully, your team has all its key players upright and healthy as you play for a championship.

Fantasy football rankings for Week 17 are based on the point-per-reception (PPR) scoring used in most seasonal and daily fantasy football formats. One point is awarded for every 10 rushing and receiving yards and one point for every 20 passing yards. Six points are awarded for touchdowns scored, four points for passing TDs and one point for receptions.

Rankings are compiled byDaniel Dobish, TheHuddle.com.

Fantasy football quarterback rankings for Week 17

Fantasy football rankings for Week 17: Healthy QBs hold keys to championship quest (1)
  • Trevor Lawrence has played through multiple injuries this season, but his latest – a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder – was too much to overcome. C.J. Beathard gets the start.
  • C.J. Stroud (concussion) said he'll be good to start this week after missing the past two games.
  • The Broncos have opted to start Jarrett Stidham over Russell Wilson against the Chargers in what's being called a "football decision" by the team.
  • The Vikings have chosen to start Jaren Hall over Nick Mullens and Joshua Dobbs this week vs. Green Bay.
  • Brock Purdy left Monday's game with a neck stinger, but is no longer on the Niners injury report.
  • Sleeper pick: Derek Carr has tossed three TD passes in each of his last two games and will be facing the NFL's worst pass defense.

Fantasy football running back rankings for Week 17

  • Raheem Mostert is out with an ankle injury.
  • Kenneth Walker (shoulder/illness) practiced on a limited basis Friday and will be a game-time decision Sunday. Unfortunately, the Seahawks play in one of only three late afternoon games.
  • Isiah Pacheco (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday and is in danger of missing Sunday's game. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is in line to get the bulk of the backfield touches if Pacheco is out.
  • Josh Jacobs has missed two games with a quadriceps injury, and is doubtful to return this week. He's also been dealing with an undisclosed illness.
  • Sleeper pick: Ezekiel Elliott thrived last week in PPR formats with nine receptions on 11 targets. With Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Zeke is in line for a repeat performance.

Fantasy football wide receiver rankings for Week 17

Fantasy football rankings for Week 17: Healthy QBs hold keys to championship quest (2)
  • The Chargers' Keenan Allen (heel) and Joshua Palmer (concussion) are both out for Sunday. Quentin Johnston could take over the WR1 role for QB Easton Stick.
  • Jaylen Waddle (ankle) has been ruled out. Cedrick Wilson and Braxton Berrios could split time in his role vs. Baltimore.
  • Courtland Sutton will miss Sunday's game with a concussion. Brandon Johnson, who scored last week, should see an uptick in targets.
  • Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) and Michael Pittman (concussion) both missed last week's game and are in danger of missing another. Pittman cleared the concussion protocol earlier this week, but remains questionable.
  • DJ Moore left Sunday's game when he rolled his ankle, but he returned and doesn't carry an injury designation this week.
  • After scoring a season-high 49.5 PPR points in Week 16, Amari Cooper miss Thursday night's game with a heel injury.
  • Sleeper pick: Tee Higgins has 201 receiving yards and three touchdowns over the past two weeks. He should see plenty of targets against the Chiefs, especially with Chase limited or out.

Fantasy football tight end rankings for Week 17

  • T.J. Hockenson's season-ending knee injury is a huge blow for the Vikings – and fantasy managers. Josh Oliver figures to see more targets in Hockenson's absence.
  • Cole Kmet left Sunday's game early with a knee injury and did not practice Wednesday.
  • Sleeper pick: Chigoziem Okonkwo posted season highs in receptions (six) and receiving yards (63) last week in addition to scoring his first touchdown of the season. The Texans give up the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends.
