You can call us from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, at 844-284-2676.

In your TreasuryDirect account, you can purchase and hold Treasury bills, notes, bonds, Floating Rate Notes, Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), and savings bonds, and it's available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You'll likely need to call the TreasuryDirect customer service at 844-284-2676 if you're locked out of your account because you entered the wrong password or security question answers too many times.

TreasuryViewer is a mobile app to buy and view your Treasury securities on Treasury Direct.

About TreasuryDirect.gov

Your investments are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government.

You just bought a security from the U.S. Treasury. Securities are generally issued to your account within two business days of the purchase date for savings bonds or within one week of the auction date for Bills, Notes, Bonds, FRNs, and TIPS.

TreasuryDirect Accounts. What is a TreasuryDirect Primary account? A TreasuryDirect Primary account is your personal account you open in TreasuryDirect. Once a Primary account is opened, you may establish Minor, Custom, and Conversion Linked accounts that are accessed only from your Primary account.

Open your Internet browser and type "www.treasurydirect.gov" in the address window. On the TreasuryDirect home page, in the upper right corner, select “Open an Account.” On the "TreasuryDirect - Open an Account" page, select "TreasuryDirect." Read the three steps on the “Open An Account >> Intro” page.

Go to your TreasuryDirect account. Choose the Manage Direct tab. Identify the security or securities you want to transfer. Choose External Transfer.

Once in your TreasuryDirect account, the bond will be registered in your name alone. You can then add either a secondary owner or beneficiary.

If you get locked out of TreasuryDirect for some reason, such as numerous failed login attempts, you will receive a message providing a telephone number to contact Customer Service for assistance.

To report an outage with the Treasury Check Verification System (TCVS), call the Fiscal Service IT Service Desk at 304-480-7777.
